KEYSER, W.Va. — Harold J. Robertson Sr., 90, of 5 Ludwick Court, Keyser, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 23, 1919 in Barton, he was the son of the late John S. and Helena (Lyons) Robertson. His wife in 2005, Beulah (Clark) Robertson, a son in 1977, Kevin Robertson, a brother, William G. Robertson, and a sister, Althea Lashbaugh, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Robertson was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II. He retired from Westvaco Corp, having worked in Technical Services. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, W.Va., a member of Kelly Mansfield Post 52 American Legion, Piedmont, and played third base with the former Westvaco Baseball Team.
He leaves behind a son, Harold “Robbie” Robertson Jr. and wife Jeanie of Piedmont; a sister, Ruth Smith of Keyser; a grandson, Robbie Kevin Lynn Robertson and wife Jamie of Keyser; a great-granddaughter, Nicole Paige Robertson; and a brother-in-law, Lynwood Clark of Frederick, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, Md., on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bart Thompson officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md.
