LAST MEETING: Wednesday

ACTION:

• Approved a lease Agreement with the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority for Allegany County Tourism offices at the Western Maryland Railway Station in the monthly amount of $407.50. The figure is nearly double the amount paid in 2009 because of the additional office space for Barb Buehl, director of county tourism.

• Authorized Sheriff’s Office to use a $36,002 grant from the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention for enhanced court security.The funds will purchase three metal detectors, six hand-held security wands and the cost to install equipment and train personnel.
