KEYSER, W.Va. — Ronald E. Alvaro, 72, of Rt. 4, Stony Run Road, Keyser, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, Md.
Born on May 7, 1937 at Keyser, he was a son of the late James E. and Mae E. (Broadwater) Alvaro.
Mr. Alvaro was a school teacher with the Mineral County Board of Education having taught history and social studies for 30 years, retiring from Keyser High School. He was a 1955 graduate of Keyser High School, attended Potomac State College, graduated from Shepherd College in 1959 and received his master's degree in secondary education from West Virginia University. He also attended the Keyser Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 50 years, Ruby (Davis) Alvaro; one daughter, Molly Alvaro of Keyser; two grandchildren, Kristin McClintock and Camden Smith; and a brother-in-law, Allen Ernie Davis and wife Darlene of Keyser.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dwight Ramsey officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Keyser Church of the Brethren, 152 S. Main Street, Keyser, WV 26726.
