CUMBERLAND — Following is the holiday schedule for Allegany County government:

County Offices

All county offices will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The last business day to pay taxes and utilities in 2009 will be Thursday, Dec. 31. The tax office will close at 4 p.m. that day.

Allegany County Transit

There will not be any fixed route bus service and para-transit (All Trans vans) will not operate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Compost and Refuse Sites

Allegany County Compost Site: 11700 PPG Road, North Branch Industrial Park, Cumberland. The compost site is regularly scheduled to operate three days a week in the winter, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Flintstone Refuse Site: 26706 National Pike. This refuse site is regularly scheduled to operate four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Flintstone Refuse Site will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Little Orleans Refuse Site: 11306 Orleans Road. This refuse site is regularly scheduled to operate two days a week, Thursday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Oldtown Refuse Site: Lower Town Creek Road. This refuse site is regularly scheduled to operate four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The Oldtown Refuse Site will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
