Man loses fingers in snowblower accident; two reattached

OWINGS MILLS (AP) — WMAR-TV staff called 911 for help after a man trying to clear a jam in a snowblower was hurt as one of the station's crews taped a report on the weekend's big snowstorm.

In a report shown in the Baltimore station's 6 p.m. Saturday newscast, the man is seen putting one hand in an opening of the machine, then jerking it out, cradling one hand in another and saying that his fingers have been chopped off.

The station reported that its crew stopped taping and called 911. A Baltimore County ambulance arrived and took the man to Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, where doctors reattached two of the man's fingers, the station said in its report.
