Conway Twitty lives on through tribute performer

CUMBERLAND — Tri-State Concert Association’s country division has scheduled its popular country stage show, A Night with Garth and Friends, for March 27, and will highlight the talent of the late superstar of the genre, Conway Twitty.

Brian McCullough will bring his tribute performance as Twitty to the stage show. McCullough has been performing as Twitty throughout theaters and comes to Cumberland highly recommended.

“We’ve been trying to get Brian here for several years and we’ve finally been able to get him. No country show would ever be complete without a tribute to the great Conway Twitty,” said country coordinator Cindy Hook. “This show’s highlight will be Conway, especially since we have also booked a tribute to Loretta Lynn. Conway and Loretta’s duets were chart-toppers in the 1970s and ’80s and we are so proud to present their music again.”

Twitty was an early “crossover” star from country to pop and was known for such sultry hits as “Hello Darlin’,” “Slow Hand” and his signature hit, “Only Make Believe.”

Joining the tribute performers will be emcee and show developer Steve Fairchild as Garth Brooks. Also featured will be tributes to Charlie Daniels, Tim McGraw and a few special guests to surprise the audience.

More information on McCullough can be found on his Web site, www.brianmcculloughshow.biz and information on all the performers is available on the Tri-State Web site, www.tri-stateconcerts.com. Click the “country” link on the homepage.
