Theresa V. Fiorita [Frostburg]

FROSTBURG — Theresa V. Fiorita, 87, of Frostburg, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.

Born July 9, 1922 in Cumberland, Theresa was the daughter of the late John Matese and Lucy (Palmer) Matese. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil D. Fiorita; and one sister, Betty Roik.

Mrs. Fiorita was a former seamstress with the Michael Berkowitz Shirt Factory and was also employed by the Kelly Springfield Tire Co. in the bead room.

Theresa was a member of Saint Maichael's Catholic Church, Frostburg.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Lewis and husband Lynn, Frostburg; one brother, John Matese and wife Lois, Morantown; three grandchildren, Scott Lewis and wife Kathy, David Lewis and wife Lisa and Jaimie Cook and husband Justin; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Michael Church, Frostburg, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Father James W. Hannon as celebrant.

Interment will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Frostburg.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the 200 hall staff at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center, especially Tiffany and Jenifer. Also, the family wants to thank Theresa’s caregiver, Ethel Durst.
