Mary Edith Agnew [Bayard, W. Va.]

BAYARD, W.Va. — Mary Edith Agnew, 90, of Bayard, W.Va., passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at her home.

She was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Bismarck, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Bud L. Didawick and Lottie Jane (Cosner) Didawick.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Carl Thompson Agnew, on July 3, 2006; two brothers, Homer and Willie Didawick, and one sister, Dorothy Hinkle.

She was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Bismarck, W.Va.

Surviving are two sons, Charles T. Agnew and wife Ruby, of Mount Storm, W.Va., and Marshell E. Agnew and wife Wilda, of Bayard, W.Va.; one daughter, Sandra K. Johnson and husband Marshall, of Gormania, W.Va.; twelve grandchildren, Roy Agnew, Robert Agnew, Joyce Agnew, Virginia Sampsell, John Agnew, Elvis Agnew, Anna Funk, Julie Agnew, Carol Ludwig, Marshall Johnson III, Jolene Rippey and Jerry Agnew; twenty-six great-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joe Didawick and wife Linda, of Levels, W.Va.

Family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Bismarck, W.Va.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, in the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Walker and grandson John Agnew officiating.

Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Bismarck, W.Va.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, W.Va.
