ADDISON, Pa. — Elsie Claudine (Grove) Glass, 95, of Addison, Pa., died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at her residence.

Born May 8, 1914, in Guard, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Jasper and Mary (Becket) Grove. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Carl Victor Glass, on Feb. 27, 1971; a son, Larry Glass; a son-in-law, John Wass; three brothers, Ralph, Floyd and John Grove, and eight sisters, Florence Shoemaker, Nora Grove, Clara Grove, Anna Pearl Reed, Mary Lytle, Iva Dixon, Hazel Weaver and Pauline Queer.

Mrs. Glass was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, ELCA, Cove, MD, St. John’s Ladies Aid and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for 10 years. She enjoyed quilting, reading, family history and making lap robes and comfort tops for Addison Tuesday Workers. She had been living with her daughter, Betty, in Addison. She also enjoyed having family and friends visit her and family reunions.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Robert Glass and wife Kathy, of Hanover, and Ronald Francis Glass and wife Marlene, of Jarrettsville; a daughter, Betty Carol Wass, of Addison; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at 1 p.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church, ELCA, with the Rev. Roland E. Nairn III officiating.

Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Accident.
