H1N1 vaccine clinic in Grantsville
GRANTSVILLE — The Garrett County Health Department will hold an H1N1 vaccination clinic at its office in Grantsville today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for all priority groups, which include pregnant women, anyone 6 months through 24 years old, adults 25 through 64 who have underlying medical problems, health care workers and household care givers of children younger than 6 months.

State parks to close on service reduction days
CUMBERLAND — Maryland state parks and other public lands managed by the state will be closed during service reduction days for the 2009 holiday season, as part of the State’s Furlough and Temporary Salary Reduction Plan.
Public-use parking lots, buildings and other facilities will not be available on those days. State parks will remain open on Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
The Department of Natural Resources Regional Service Centers will be closed from Wednesday through the Thanksgiving weekend. Recreational licenses can be purchased from any designated sport license agent location or online at https://www3.wildlifelicense.com/md/.
The state park holiday closing schedule includes Wednesday, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
All DNR offices will be closed those days.
The Regional Service Centers will be closed Dec. 24 through 27 and Dec. 31 through Jan. 3.
All state park camping and cabin reservations will be honored and law enforcement personnel will be on duty during the holidays and service reduction days.

Dance benefits Salvation Army
MEYERSDALE, Pa. — Three local rock bands, Inertia, AKA and High Society, will play during a dance to benefit the Salvation Army in Somerset County.
The groups will perform today beginning at 10 p.m. at Slammerz. Admission is a new toy or $5 for the Salvation Army toy fund drive.
