KEYSER, W.Va. — Dorothy “Deanie” Hoover, 92, a resident of Moran Manor and formerly of 104 Gilmore St., Keyser, died on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at WMHS-Braddock Campus, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 22, 1917, in Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Parley and Katherine Victoria (Pysell) Diehl. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William Hoover, on Jan. 17, 1986; a brother, William Diehl; and two sisters, Sadie Maine and Marie Moore.
Mrs. Hoover was a retired retail clerk from Coffman Fisher Store. She was a member of the Keyser Presbyterian Church and Women’s Circle, and a volunteer at Potomac Valley Hospital. Deanie was a caregiver for children of numerous families in Keyser.
Surviving are her brother, Robert Diehl; a sister, Anna Mae Fraser, both of Keyser; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ernest L. Poland Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.
