Donald R. “Donnie” Woods [Keyser]

KEYSER, W.Va. — Donald Raymond “Donnie” Woods, 62, of Keyser, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at the Braddock Campus of the WMHS-Cumberland, after an extended illness.

Born on March 27, 1947, at Keyser, W.Va., he was a son of the late Theodore “Ted” and Lola Irene (Leatherman) Woods. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Zelda “Toots” Likens and Patricia Wensell, and a nephew, J.R. Bowman.

Donnie was employed as a sheet metal worker with Penn Ventilator for 26 years. He was Brethren by faith and was a member of Lodge 662, Loyal Order of Moose, Keyser and Local 100, Sheet Metal Workers International, Suitland.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years and the love of his life, Charlene Susan “Sue” (Haines) Woods; four stepchildren, Karen Bray and husband Sam, Diane Hickle and husband Heath Dolly, Cindy Hickle Bane and husband Patrick Bane, and Harry Hickle III and wife Faith; five grandchildren, Josh Siesky, Megan Bray, Heather, Brian and Katie Dolly; two stepgrandchildren, Emily and Hanna Hickle; and one very special great-grandchild, Madison Haines, all of whom Donnie loved dearly. Also surviving is a brother, Harold “Bud” Burgess and wife Angie, of Westernport.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, from noon to 2 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted immediately following the visitation on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Roger Leatherman and Pastor Donnie Knotts officiating.

Interment will be in the Duling Cemetery, Keyser. Pallbearers will be Stanley Haines, Charlie Haines, Sam Bray, Heath Dolly, Josh Siesky and Brian Dolly.
