CUMBERLAND — Judith H. McDonald, 65, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at her residence.
Born Feb. 11, 1944, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. Elton and Wilhelmina Marie (Schmitt) Elton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, C. James McDonald Jr., and her brother, Kenneth Elton.
Mrs. McDonald had worked at Centre Street United Methodist Church, Cumberland, and the Bon-Ton Department Store, LaVale.
She belonged to Centre Street United Methodist Church, where she had been a Lay Speaker and had taught classes for the Baltimore Methodist Conference. In addition, she belonged to the Allegany County Republican Club; McKinley Chapter 12, O.E.S.; and, the Sheiks and Sheilas.
Survivors include her two daughters, Leah Stonestreet and husband Leonard, of Cumberland, and Johanna M. McDonald, of New Market, Va.; one sister, Leila Kelly, of Westminster; seven grandchildren, Eileen Stevens, Rachel Stevens, Regina Stonestreet, James Stonestreet, Anthony Galloway, Seth Galloway, and Joseph Galloway; and one great-granddaughter, Alexia Galloway.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
McKinley Chapter 12, O.E.S. will conduct a memorial service in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 PM.
The funeral service will be conducted in Centre Street United Methodist Church on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ann Atkins officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
