CUMBERLAND — George Edward Paige Sr., 65, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at his home.
Born Aug. 4, 1944, in Cumberland, Mr. Paige was the son of the late Forrest Vincent Paige Sr., and Pearl M. (Lewis) Paige. He was also preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Retired from Schroeder Industries, George of was a member of the Community Unity in Action through the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church. His passion was attending his grandson’s football games and visiting the nursing homes.
George is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cynthia A. Paige; his sons, George E. Paige Jr. and his wife Michelle, and Terrance R. Paige, all of Harrisburg, Pa., Brooklyn M. Paige, Bruceton L. Paige, Brandon M. Paige, and Daniel M. Paige; his daughters, Marjorie A. Paige, Crystal C. Blake and her husband John, Rebecca L. Paige, Celeste L. Paige, Takea M. Paige and her special friend Dennis Urgent, and Tamika S. Paige and her special friend, James Moore; his brother, Forrest V. Paige Jr.; his sister, Pearl Brown, all of Cumberland; 23 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his foster children, Franklin, Charles, Jeria, Paul and Reggie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, from 10 a.m. to noon.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at noon with the Rev. Alfred Deas Jr. officiating.
