LONACONING — Shirley Williams Walbert, 82, of Lonaconing, went to heaven with her family beside her at WMHS-Braddock Campus, on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009.
Born in Lonaconing on Dec. 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Robert Williams and Stella (Howell) Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband George Henry Walbert, on April 3, 1995, and son, Rick L. Walbert.
Shirley was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. She was also a member of Martha Washington Chapter 10 OES and the Frostburg Community Center where she line-danced. She was President of Central High School Class of 1944, and treasurer-secretary of the AARP. She was a former employee of Westvaco Corp in the Lab.
Surviving her son, Jay W. Walbert and wife Janet, of Frostburg; grandchildren Heather A. Walbert Britton and husband Aaron, Jessica D. Walbert Wagoner and husband Darren, Joshua C. Walbert, and Janell M. Walbert; great-grandchildren Abigail Britton and Macey Wagoner; daughter-in-law Donna Walbert, of Frostburg, and a special friend, William Fazenbaker, of Fort Ashby, W.Va.
Family and friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A., Lonaconing, on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, from noon to 2 p.m.
A funeral service will directly follow in the funeral home on Monday with the Rev. Maxwell Greenfield officiating.
Interment will be held at Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
