To the Editor:
Is there anyone in their right mind naive enough to think that anyone in the present administration gives a tinker’s damn about national security? Do you think that politicians such as Cardin, Mikulski, Reid, et al, care if your son or daughter is wounded or killed in a foreign war, or is killed or wounded at a stateside military base?
Politicians will create ridiculous scenarios such as “gun-free zones” on U.S. military bases; this president will hesitate when it comes to national security (i.e. more troops in Afghanistan), or try Islamic terrorists on mainland soil! How long do you think it will be before there is another terroristic act in the U.S.?
While there were some reasons to criticize President Bush, at least he took the position of commander-in-chief seriously, which should be to protect Americans. There were absolutely no major terroristic incidents on U.S. soil during his eight years in office! There has already been one during the reign of the “Messiah”!
