CUMBERLAND — Deloris I. VonStein, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at the Lions Nursing Center for Rehabilitation.
Born Nov. 4, 1931 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Russell L. Northcraft and Eunice Pearl (Ruby) Northcraft. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John VonStein; one son, John Leroy VonStein; and one brother, Kenneth Northcraft. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. VonStein was a homemaker and a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are one daughter, Vonda Mathews and husband Marty, Cumberland; two sons, Gary W. VonStein and wife Kim and Marle K. VonStein, all of Cresaptown; daughter-in-law, Tina M. VonStein; grandchildren, Tiffany Washington and husband James, Cumberland, Hollie VonStein, Baltimore, Jason VonStein and wife Christa, Hagerstown, Lindsay VonStein, Boynton Beach, Fla., Garrett VonStein and wife Brooke, Pinto, Jared Mathews, Abbie Mathews and Maggie Mathews, all of Cumberland; and four great-grandchildren, Tylor Jessie, Jaden Jessie, James Washington III and Olivia VonStein.
Committal services will be conducted at the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Flintstone, on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department, 13109 Warrior Drive, Cresaptown, MD 21505
