Butch Young rolled a perfect game in his 761 set at White Oak Lanes, while Bill Kyle and Brett Stenberg both bowled 299 games at Wilson Lanes.
The area’s top bowler for the week was Troy Smith who scored a 289 game and 799 set at White Oak Lanes. Young’s 761 was next high and then Bobby Benton’s 748/266. Chad Gable rolled a 290 game in his 731 set.
Dave Yates was highest at The Bowler rolling 793/268. Corey Shirey was next high scoring 761/268. Rich Shewbridge bowled a 288 game in his 708 set.
Bill Kyle’s 771/299 was highest at Wilson Lanes for the week. Clay Corbin followed scoring 769/268.
Bobby Lannon and Steve Zirk were the top bowlers a Rainbow Lanes. Lannon rolled 763/269 and Zirk scored 723/249.
Mike Oyer’s 675/275 was Sherwood’s high for the week followed by Bruce Shirey’s 649/255.
In the PBA Experience League at White Oaks, the last two weeks are shown by the starred results on the scoreboard page. Last week’s leaders were Doug Otto and Mike Oyer scoring 593/218 and 592/222 respectively. For this week Don Green’s 632/252 and Joe Mullenax’s 620/244 were the top scores.
Crystal Uhl was the area’s top lady bowler for the week scoring 595/235 at The Bowler. Nancy Miller was next high for the ladies rolling 573/203.
Michele Hitchens’ 594/225 was the ladies’ high at White Oaks. Autumn Gable was next rolling 576/207.
At Rainbow Lanes, Sally Suter scored highest of the ladies rolling 554/192. Caryl Baker was next bowling 534/187.
Alice Monahan scored 547/193 for Sherwood’s top lady. Barb Miller was next rolling 522/181.
Jean Shoemaker was the top lady for the week at Wilson Lanes bowling 525/189. Pat Gwizdale and Julie Greene were next high both rolling 518 sets.
Ray Foster was the top senior bowler from the week’s reports. Foster rolled 620/222 at The Bowler. Brad Deter bowled 527/190 at White Oak Lanes.
Scottie Brown was the area’s top youth bowler for the week scoring 692/265 at White Oak Lanes. Ben Nelson bowled 629/231 at Sherwood and Danny Walch rolled 594/215 at The Bowler. Charles Abernathy bowled 552/233 at rainbow and Justin Boyer rolled 516/188 at Wilson Lanes.
Amanda Greene was named “Youth Bowler of the Year” by the Maryland State USBC. A more detailed account of the award will be found in the Time-News Sports Magazine on Nov. 28.
