Better late than never

Grounded by several days of weather not suited for flying, a B-25 bomber aircraft scheduled to arrive Friday at the Greater Cumberland Regional Airport touched down Sunday afternoon and was greeted by a crowd of enthusiasts. The B-25J, Panchito, piloted by Larry Kelley of Delaware, is decorated as a tribute to a B-25 medium bomber that flew in the Central Pacific with the 396th Bomb Squadron, 41st Bomb Group, 7th Air Force. Fly-along rides were also offered. The fly-in was part of the Cumberland Goes to War event. The story of Panchito’s history and restoration can be found at www.ragwingsandradials.com.
