Bartlett knows throwing money at a problem doesn’t work
There have been few in Washington, as of late, with the foresight of Congressman Bartlett. He has stood in stark contrast to his colleagues on both sides of the aisle, who have been determined to spend like there’s no tomorrow.
He has voted against the stimulus bill, which has had little impact on true job retention and creation.
Now, he has resisted the “feel good” health care bill that will lead to nothing but unbridled government control and unwieldy debt for generations to come.
According to some figures, the average liability per citizen has now reached over $344,000. It is said that a child is born every eight seconds. Isn’t it comforting to know that as soon as a baby is welcomed into the world, they now have a $344,000 burden to bare?
What is even more shocking is that the health care bill wasn’t even figured into that number yet. If passed, it will attach an additional $1 trillion in spending for 10 years. At least that is what the estimate is now. This figure may balloon as the program is implemented.
Unlike his colleagues, Bartlett has figured out that throwing money at a problem will do little to nothing to solve it.
Thank you, Congressman, for doing the right thing.
