Upole WEPCO’s employee of quarter
OAKLAND — Lesa Upole, a full-time teller at WEPCO Federal Credit Union’s Oakland branch, is the finanancial institution’s first employee of the quarter.
“Lesa is creative and enthusiastic and an asset to the branch,” said manager Vicki Thayer.
Upole, a WEPCO employee since 2003, performed 5,413 transactions from July through September, with an accuracy ratio of 99.981 percent.
In addition to her performance and creative ideas, Upole has completed 12 training courses since September. The courses are offered to all employees on a volunteer basis to educate them on such topics as fraud and improving services for members. Uphole is currently working toward certification as Teller I.
Sherman retires from Pilgrim’s Pride
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Howard Randall Sherman has retired from Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation after working for the company for 13 years.
He was hired on Jan. 29, 1996, and has worked in every department at the Moorefield fresh food service complex. Most recently, he worked as a quality assurance technician on day shift.
Sherman lives in Petersburg. He has two daughters, Amanda Gerstell and Crystal Pratt, and one son, Jason Sherman. He has three grandchildren, Kaile, Devin and Tyler.
Sherman’s plans for retirement are to hunt, fish, work in his garden and spend more time with his 84-year-old mother. He also plans to work part time with Pilgrim’s Pride.
