Representatives should side with constituents on health bill

The House of Representatives is expecting to be voting on their version of the health care bill HR 3962 within the next day or so.

All of the house Republicans are voting NO to the bill, but that in itself is not enough to stop it. There is a group of 52 moderate to conservative Democrats called the Blue Dog Coalition that is going to be very crucial to the passage or failure of this bill. Nancy Pelosi needs at least 40 of them to pass the bill.

This is the letter that I sent to them. Please consider contacting them as well and letting your voice be heard. Their communications director is Kristen Hawn. Her email is BlueDog@mail.house.gov and her phone is (202) 226-9782.

Dear Blue Dog Coalition:

If Nancy Pelosi is so oblivious to the fact that the majority of the U.S. citizens do not want this kind of reform, then it is up to you. I’d advise you to please think about this thoroughly before you cast a vote. Vote your conscience! Do not simply fall in lock step with the speaker. You have the chance to do what is truly right for this country. Do you fully grasp this?

We will be watching very carefully at this upcoming vote and believe it when I say, the American people will replace you in office if you do not do what you know is the right thing to do.

Choose carefully, Blue Dogs. I trust that when it finally comes to making your decision, you will side with your constituents.
