CUMBERLAND — People First, a local self-advocacy group of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, will hold a town hall meeting to discuss the effects of recent state budget cuts Thursday at 6 p.m. at the new Allegany County Human Resources Development Commission building at 125 Virginia Ave.

People who receive services from area agencies such as Service Coordination, Friends Aware, Spectrum and Ray of Hope have been invited to bring their family members and share their concerns, according to Amanda Paul, service coordinator with Service Coordination on North Liberty Street.

Discussion points will include:

• Two percent cuts to residential day and support services.

• Fifteen percent resource coordination cuts.

• A 75 percent cut to adult respite care funded by the Department of Social Services.

• Closure of any new referrals to the Project Home service.

• Termination of services for people who are not included in the state’s medical assistance waivers.
