WILEY FORD, W.Va. — John Richard Thompson, 56, of Wiley Ford, W.Va., died on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Martinsburg VA Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born March 1, 1953, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles Joseph Thompson Sr. and Margaret Ann (Murphy) Thompson.
A 1971 graduate of Bruce High School, John was a veteran of the United States Army and was an employee of Press’ Gas Station.
Mr. Thompson is survived by three brothers, Chuck Thompson, of Bloomington, Michael “Mickey” Thompson and wife Elizabeth, of Cumberland, and Robert Thompson and wife Andee, of Cumberland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, from noon to 2 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ted Marsh officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans’ Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans’ Honor Guard.
