Northern stops Southern

Baker runs for 172 yards, two TDs

ACCIDENT — Alex Baker ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns, and the Northern defense came up with a big turnover in the final minute to fend off arch rival Southern, 14-12, Friday evening at Half Mile High Stadium.

The win was the eighth in a row for Northern in the Garrett County series. Southern still leads the all-time series 33-18-2.

Baker ran 20 times for 172 yards and Josh Baker had a couple of big runs and finished with 47 yards on five carries for the Huskies, who led 6-0 at halftime and 14-0
