BW boosters to meet Tuesday

CUMBERLAND — The Bishop Walsh Athletic Association will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.



Dapper Dan Executive Board to meet

CUMBERLAND — The Dapper Dan Executive Board will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 8 p.m. at The Goodfellowship Club in Cumberland.

The upcoming awards dinner will be discussed.



FSU cruises to AMCC volleyball final

FROSTBURG — Brooke Winterling smashed 21 kills and the Frostburg State volleyball team cruised past Penn State Altoona, 3-0, in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament semifinals Friday evening.

The top-seeded Bobcats (29-4), reaching the tournament final for the third straight year, will play No. 2 Penn State Behrend (22-9) today at 2 o’clock. Behrend beat Pitt-Bradford 3-1. FSU swept Behrend in last year’s championship match, and a win today would give the Bobcats a 10th conference championship.

FSU beat Altoona (17-14) by 25-17, 25-12 and 25-14 for its 21st three-game sweep of the year.

Jamie Thomas had seven kills and 11 digs, Chelsea Wassell added seven kills and Sabrina Winterling six kills and three blocks for the Bobcats. Kylie Carrington added 42 assists and 12 digs and Sarah Stephens 12 digs.
