Canal Place crash

A 17-year-old Finzel boy was taken to Memorial Hospital by a Cumberland Fire Department ambulance Friday after his vehicle traveled out of control at the Industrial Boulevard ramp from westbound Interstate 68 shortly before 11 a.m. The vehicle struck a curb and a wall descending the ramp before crossing a grassy area where it struck a storm grate and a metal bench next to the Canal Place shops. Investigation indicated the driver may have lost control of the vehicle as a result of a medical complication, according to the Cumberland Police Department.
