FROSTBURG — The Savage River Lodge has partnered with the Western Maryland Heifer Task Force to raise funds to fight world hunger.
Today through Nov. 13, the business will be hosting Heifer Week to raise funds to help families suffering from hunger and poverty. The lodge will donate 10 percent of all food and beverage revenue to the organization.
A regional sector of Heifer International (www.heifer.org), the Western Maryland Task Force aids in the fight against world hunger by collecting milk, eggs, meat and wool via fundraising and donations. The organization also supplies families with livestock, treesand other resources.
The lodge, a four seasons resort located in Savage River State Forest, has been dedicated to the promotion of community service and charitable donations since opening 10 years ago.
