What’s missing with Mountain Ridge football?

To the Editor:

If Mountain Ridge football was on exhibit the (Friday, Oct. 30) in Frostburg, then we need to revamp the entire football program. Baseball, wrestling, basketball, j.v. football, girls' softball, soccer, and all other sports, including pee wee football, don't seem to have the problem winning against a Cumberland team. What is missing?

We need to have a broad discussion of "What are our problems and how do we resolve them?" We need the school's administration and especially athletic director Gary Davis to take the lead and have a more active role in this discussion. Is it discipline, a poor weight training program, or a lack of morale?

Let's get to root cause(s) because the fans of Mountain Ridge deserve better. The only successful season is one that includes a win over a Cumberland school, excluding B.W.

Sincerely,

Gene Zumpano
