Vaccine offered to middle schoolers
CUMBERLAND — Middle school students in public and private schools and home-schooled children in grades six through eight will be offered the H1N1 vaccine at the Allegany County Health Department on Willowbrook Road on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Both H1N1 mist and the injectable vaccine will be available. Parents and guardians should complete the appropriate consent form for the type of vaccine received at the clinic.
The nasal spray mist can be used for healthy children and adults up to 49 years old. The injectable vaccine is available for anyone 6 months and older except for those who have had a severe allergy to eggs or gelatin.
Children must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or an adult with a note from the legal parent or guardian.
