Acts of kindness, generosity have restored Mom’s faith

I am writing to thank all of the wonderful people who reached out to me regarding my son’s stolen bike (“Stolen bike was present from soldier in Afghanistan to his son,” Oct. 22 Times-News).

After my letter was published, I immediately began receiving letters, emails, phone calls, etc. from complete strangers wanting to replace his bike.

None of these people wanted recognition — they were simply offering an act of kindness to my son and our family. Words cannot express how much we appreciate this generosity.

A very special person actually left a brand new bike on my porch two days after my letter was published, and the stolen bike was found and has since been returned as well.

My son plans to donate one of the bikes to charity and best of all our faith has been restored — there are still decent, kind, caring, and generous people in this world.

A very special thank you to Drew, Chris, William, And Retta — you know who you are!
