Daniel Johnson Fort Hill male student-athlete of the month for October
CUMBERLAND — Daniel Johnson is a four-year player on the Fort Hill soccer team, is co-captain of this year’s team and has been named Fort Hill High School’s male student-athlete of the month for October.
“Daniel is the epitome of a leader,” said Coach Jim Hott. “His goalkeeper play is top quality and he has a strong work ethic at practice. He has great skill and has been a pleasure to coach over his playing career.
“His character stands out and that is attributed to having a good family with great support. He received a serious injury this year during the season but has been there to support his teammates all the way. He will be sorely missed.”
Johnson has also played tennis at Fort Hill for three years, has been a member of the ski club for two years and has participated in the Soccer Buddies program as well as the debate team as a freshman.
A member of the National Honor Society, Johnson is ranked eighth in his class and carries a 3.95 GPA. He will attend the University of Tennessee to study Nuclear Engineering.
