FROSTBURG — Doris Elizabeth Ritchie, 82, died on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.

Proceeding her in death was her husband, Leonard E. Ritchie; parents, Alice (Porter) and Ishmael Filer; sister, Joan Sonner; and brother, James Filer.

Surviving family members are her sons, Brent Ritchie, of Cumberland and Bruce Ritchie and wife Robin, of Salisbury; grandchildren, Brian Ritchie and Jennifer Ritchie; sister, Mary Frances Baker, of Yorktown, Va.; a nephew; and nieces.

Doris was part owner of Doris and Helen's Beauty Box in Frostburg and later worked as a hair stylist at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.

There will be no funeral at this time as Doris donated her body to science for study.
