As health care reform debated, premiums continue to rise

Just got the notice, our Medicare prescription premium went up 40 percent for next year. Just several months ago our Medicare supplemental insurance premium went up 18 percent. And we have folks out there who are fighting health care reform. Can’t figure! Disappointed and outraged!

And they use all kinds of despicable tactics. To watch some of those TV commentators or listen to their counterparts on radio you would think them un-American. How they belittle and nitpick most everything that comes out of Congress or our president is unbelievable.

Everyone should know our health care system today, if allowed to carry on, will crush us. It’s already caused some unspeakable damage to our very health and welfare in too many households. Surely all of us could stop this infighting among parties and people and keep a fair and factual perspective in this health care reform effort.

We need a comprehensive overhaul of our health care system. Far too many are getting richer while far too many are truly unable to pay the exorbitant costs of health care coverage. Let’s get on with it!
