WILLIAMSPORT — Automated Office Equipment Inc., a full-service office equipment company, has acquired the assets of Copy Systems Inc. in Frederick.
Copy Systems has served businesses in Frederick County and the surrounding Washington metropolitan and northern Virginia for more than 15 years.
“We are very excited about adding Copy System’s customers, employees and markets to our existing business,” said Chris Bennett, sales manager and co-owner of Automated Office Equipment. “This acquisition, along with the purchase of Standard Office Equipment Inc. in 2005, gives us complete coverage of Western Maryland and the surrounding areas with our home office located in Williamsport, a branch office outside of Cumberland and now a satellite location outside Baltimore to service accounts in D.C. and Northern Virginia. Copy Systems is a great fit for Automated as we share the same high quality standards for products and service.
“Gary Wyler, owner of Copy Systems Inc., represented Copystar office products under the Kyocera technology umbrella and Automated is already a Kyocera dealer, so nothing changes. Many of the accounts will continue to be serviced by their current service technician, just under a new name. Gary has joined the Automated team as a major account manager and will continue to work with many of the same accounts.”
The Frederick location is now serving as the firm’s main headquarters. All maintenance agreements, proposals and purchase orders currently in place with Copy Systems will be honored and Automated will provide service and supplies on equipment purchased from Copy Systems. Customers will also enjoy access to an expanded offering of equipment, supplies and services offered through Automated.
