Charles Kenneth Carey [LaVale]

LAVALE — Charles Kenneth Carey, 89, of LaVale, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Saint Agnes Hospital, Baltimore.

Born Sept. 6, 1920, in Cincinnati, Iowa, Mr. Carey was the son of the late Walter Bointon Carey and Ada (Besse) Carey. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Carey, Oct. 15, 1983; and a daughter, Nancy J. Carey, July 2009.

A United States Naval veteran during World War II, Charles retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Local 100. He was a member of the Park Place United Methodist Church and a former social member of the LaVale Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Patricia A.C. Frame, Cary, N.C.; his brother, Wayne Carey and his wife Joyce, Murray, Ky.; his sister, Betty McCarty and her husband Ted, Schertz, Texas; as well as three granddaughters; and one grandson.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Vicki Cubbage officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family requests that memorials be made to the LaVale Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, PO Box 3343, LaVale, MD 21501-3343. Charles hated flowers.
