H1N1 immunizations slated in Mineral
KEYSER, W.Va. — The Mineral County Health Department will hold an H1N1 influenza vaccine clinic for all children 6 months to 4 years of age, those five to 24 with chronic medical conditions, caregivers of infants under 6 months of age, and day care providers, health care providers, first responders and pregnant women. The clinic will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. both days.
The vaccine also will be available during regular immunization clinics held each Tuesday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The same age and health condition criteria is followed.

Fort Hill band earns season high
CUMBERLAND — The Fort Hill band recently performed at the annual Western Maryland Tournament of Bands Show held at Southern High School and took second place in Group 3 with its highest score of the season, 81.5.
The band placed second among all competitive bands. That same day, the band also performed in the Autumn Glory Grand Feature Parade and placed fifth. The band will compete for the first in the Chapter 13 Championships this weekend at South Hagerstown High School.
The band will hold its annual “Kick off Homecoming week” all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Oct. 31 in the school cafeteria from noon to 6 p.m. Children under 6 years old will eat free of charge. There will be several raffles and an auction. Tickets can be purchased from any Fort Hill band member and also will be sold at the door. Take-out orders will be available.
