CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County Board of Education will welcome its newest member at Tuesday night’s regular monthly meeting.

Mike Llewellyn, 30, of LaVale, is scheduled to be sworn in at 3:30 p.m., just before the board meets in executive session.

An attorney and political science professor at Allegany College of Maryland, Llywellyn was appointed by the governor to serve the remainder of the late Jane Dawson’s term. Dawson, 76, died in July.

The board is scheduled to meet for a public work session at 5 p.m., which is to include discussions of the 2009 assessments and employee and personal family illness leave. A public business meeting is to follow at 7 p.m.
