Fourteen receive Gilpin scholarships at ACM
CUMBERLAND — Fourteen 2009 graduates of Allegany County high schools are among recipients of Gilpin Freshman Awards for study at Allegany College of Maryland in the 2009-10 academic year.
The recipients of these scholarships, who maintained a minimum 3.5 grade-point average, were announced by the ACM Foundation. The 14 students are:
Samantha Blubaugh of Lonaconing, a graduate of Mountain Ridge High School, is a pre-nursing major and the daughter of Eugene and Tina Blubaugh.
Jordan Braman of Flintstone, a Fort Hill High School graduate, is a nursing major who began ACM studies as an early college student. She is the daughter of Deborah and Robert Ruby and Tim Braman.
Ruth Chisholm of Cumberland, a graduate of Calvary Christian Academy, is a general studies major. She is the daughter of Roy and Cindy Chisholm.
Matthew Cunningham of Frostburg, a Mountain Ridge High School graduate, is a general studies major. He has worked at Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort. He is the son of Pat and Theresa Cunningham.
Emily Dordevic of Cumberland, an Allegany High School graduate, is a university studies major. She has been employed at Café Mark in downtown Cumberland and is the daughter of Michelle Dordevic.
Kayla Emerick of Cumberland, a Fort Hill High School graduate, is a biology major. She has been employed at Chick-Fil-A and is the daughter of Pam and Brian Emerick.
Nicholas Hager of Midlothian, a Mountain Ridge High School graduate, is a criminal justice major. He has worked at Knieriem Tires Inc. and is the son of Rick and Janet Hager.
Emilee Humbertson of LaVale, a graduate of Calvary Christian Academy, is a biology major. She is the daughter of Gary and Lisa Humbertson.
Shane Kreiling of LaVale, a graduate of Allegany High School, is a business marketing and sales major. He is the son of Dave and Becky Kreiling.
Dean Michaels of Cresaptown, an Allegany High School graduate, is a business administration major. He is the son of Dean Michaels Sr.
Emily Schadt of Cumberland, a graduate of Allegany High School, is a therapeutic massage major. She is the daughter of Jonathan and Martha Schadt.
Christopher Sell of Cumberland is an Allegany High School graduate. He is a health and physical education major. Sell is employed in the hardware department at Sears. He is the son of David and Debra Sell.
Ryan Thomas of Cumberland, a Fort Hill High School graduate, is a computer science major. He is the son of June and James Thomas.
Amy Willison of Frostburg, a graduate of Mountain Ridge High School, is a pre-occupational therapy major who has been employed at Food Lion. She is the daughter of Donald and Carole Willison.
