Cumberland Theatre offering high-speed look at works of William Shakespeare

CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Theatre will present “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare-Abridged” Thursday through Oct. 25.

The play has been described as “a high-speed, comic assault on the Bard of Stratford-upon-Avon. Three actors, trampling roughshod over and around the greatest plays ever written, perform all of Shakespeare’s plays (and sonnets) in under two hours.

“A delightful evening of guerrilla theater, somewhat naughty and a little bit risque. After a stunning nine-year run in London’s West End, ‘The Complete Works of William Shakespeare-Abridged’ has been performed before audiences of all ages around the globe.”

An opening night celebration and meet the cast party will be held Oct. 9 at 8 p.m..

Performances are Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m., with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
