GARRETT, Pa. — Two people were taken to Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown after a fuel truck and another vehicle collided shortly after 9 a.m. Monday in the area of U.S. Route 219 and Cemetery Avenue.
Berlin and Somerset ambulance and Berlin Volunteer Fire Company responded to the 9:07 a.m. incident. Pennsylvania State Police investigated.
The Somerset 911 center said the county’s hazardous materials team also re-sponded to a report of a small amount of fuel spilled. Units were on the scene for more than two hours. The mishap closed the Garrett Shortcut until shortly before noon, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
