Amy White named Realtor of Year
Keyser broker selected by West Virginia association at 91st convention
KEYSER, W.Va. — Amy White, an associate broker and company partner with Coldwell Banker Home Town Realty, Keyser, was named Realtor of the Year by the West Virginia Association of Realtors during its 91st annual state convention.
White has served locally as the Potomac Highlands board’s treasurer, director, vice president and president, and as director for the state association. In that capacity, White worked on strategic planning, membership and board policy, the grievance and professional standards committee and, most notably, as chair of the education committee.
As a part of that committee, White helped to write and present new member orientations across the state. She also helped to develop the Realtor Tool Kit program for use by local boards in training and professional development of members.
Most recently, White was instrumental in rewriting the state’s Graduate Realtor Institute program and receiving accreditation for the program in West Virginia. Also this year, on behalf of the association, White applied for and received a $40,000 grant from the National Association of Realtors to be used in West Virginia for Foreclosure Prevention education.
“Amy has been a tremendous asset to the association, first as a volunteer and then as a paid staff person,” said Raymond Joseph, CEO, West Virginia Association of Realtors. “Many of the education and board support services we provide today are a result of programs her committee initiated. It bespeaks to her talent and dedication to be honored by her peers with this award.”
The award is designed to give recognition to Realtors who have served their profession and communities. Nominees are judged on principles of integrity, adherence to the Realtor Code of Ethics, and furtherance of the principles of good real estate practice as well as their civic activity, business accomplishments and their local and state board activity.
Locally, White has been involved with the Mineral County Development Authority, serving as president in 2007, and taught Real Estate Principles and Practices at Potomac State College of West Virginia University. She is a graduate of Keyser High School, Potomac State College and the University of Phoenix.
She resides in Keyser with husband, Shawn, and their three sons, Ethan, Camden and Jackson.
Coldwell Banker Home Town Realty has offices in Keyser, Romney, Petersburg and Elkins.
