Kate Heller, Allegany High School senior, writes in her journal of her experiences sleeping out on the school’s football field. About 40 of Heller’s classmates joined her on the field as a chance to experience just a part of being homeless. The sleep-out is done each year at the school, with students donating canned food or other items to participate.
