HYNDMAN, Pa. — An Eckhart woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident near Hyndman late Friday.

Tia J. Wilhelm, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:15 p.m. accident on state Route 96 near South Elmcrest Road in Londonderry Township, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Wilhelm was traveling north when her car traveled off the west side of the roadway where it struck a rock, the Post-Gazette reported. That caused the car to rotate in a counterclockwise direction northbound along the west side of the roadway where it struck a tree with the rear passenger side quarter panel, igniting a fire, according to the Gazette.

State police at Bedford had no report on the accident Saturday night.
