Donald L. “Fish” Fisher [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Donald L. “Fish” Fisher, 81, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, Cumberland.

Born Feb. 9, 1928 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Arthur I. and Lelia H. (Twigg) Fisher. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur F. Fisher, Albert L. Fisher and Charles R. Fisher.

Mr. Fisher was the general manager of former president and general manager of Allegany Bowling Corp. at White Oaks. He was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, member of Emmanuel-Bethel United Methodist Church, and Bowling Proprietors Association of America, where he was a former member of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Maryland Bowling Proprietors Association, where he was former vice president.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. JoAnn (Swihart) Fisher; two sons, Terry L. Fisher, Winchester, Va. and Donald R. “Rick” Fisher, Sr. and wife JoAnn, Winchester; one granddaughter, Jessica L. Fisher; one grandson, Donald R. Fisher Jr.; one brother, Howard Fisher and wife Virginia, Florida; one sister, L. Rayetta Coleman and husband Ronald, Hagerstown.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland (scarpellifuneralhomes.com) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne R. Turner officiating.

Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family graciously would like those desiring to honor Donald’s memory to make contributions to the Local American Cancer Society, 182 North Mechanic St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
