CRESAPTOWN —
A 23-year-old Rawlings man was taken into custody late Saturday afternoon on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the slaying of an acquaintance at a Rawlings Lane residence late Friday.
Richard J. Glenn II was arrested by the Allegany County Bureau of Police at about 4:50 p.m. in the Cresaptown area. Glenn was wanted in the shooting death of Matthew G. Golden, 38, of the 16000 block of McMullen Highway, Maryland State Police said.
Glenn was the subject of an extensive overnight manhunt involving dozens of area police officers who converged on the area shortly after a 911 call was received at about 11:50 p.m. Friday reporting a domestic dispute at the Glenn residence.
Golden was pronounced dead at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after being flown there by Maryland State Police Trooper 5 helicopter.
