Equipment is idle after a day’s work on Corridor H Friday evening in Scherr, W.Va. Part of an appropriation obtained by Sen. Robert C. Byrd will go toward work on the road connecting Interstate 79 to the Virginia state line. Additional funding could come faster if it is named a main evacuation route from Washington, D.C., in case of disaster or terrorist attack.
