8/19 - Kitzmiller man charged in burglaries
OAKLAND — A Kitzmiller man has been arrested in connection with burglaries of an Oakland business, according to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office.
John David Andrews Jr., 28, was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and single counts of theft less than $500 and theft over $500. He was jailed at the Garrett County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing late Tuesday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office investigated burglaries at a business on White Church Steyer Road that occurred between mid-July and Aug. 7. Several hundred dollars’ worth of antique coins and prescription medications were allegedly stolen during two separate burglaries.
Kitzmiller was arrested after police received a tip that the coins were sold to an Oakland business.
