Artist reception Sunday in Bedford

BEDFORD, Pa. — A reception for an exhibit of portraits by William Snyder III, with an opportunity to meet the artist, will be held Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bedford County Arts Center on Pitt Street.

The show runs through Aug. 28. The portraits were created with funding from a Pennsylvania Council Creative Fellowship Award.

Snyder grew up in Bedford immersed visual, musical and theatrical arts and earned a master of fine arts degree in printmaking from Penn State University. Last year he helped found the Nittany Valley Shakespeare Festival.

FSU information meeting on MBA

FROSTBURG — Frostburg State University will present two informational meetings for its Master of Business Administration program, the first at 6 p.m. Tuesday in 141 Pullen Hall and the second at the University System of Maryland-Hagerstown at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Lawn concert in Romney on Sunday

ROMNEY, W.Va. — String Fever will close out the Hampshire County Arts Council’s Free Summer Concerts on the Lawn on Sunday at 5 p.m. at The Potomac Center, 1 Blue St.

The acoustic family trio consists of Keith Pitzer on guitar, Joan Pitzer on bass or penny whistle and Jake Pitzer on mandolin.
