BLOOMERY, W.Va. — A Friday afternoon accident on state Route 127 resulted in a fatality and two in-juries, ac-cording to West Virginia State Police.

Jennifer Heavner, 60, of Slanesville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:24 p.m. accident by Hampshire County Coroner Penny Trenton. John Chapman Jr. and a female passenger were both transported to Winchester (Va.) Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash.

Heavner was traveling west on Route 127 and Chapman was eastbound on the road when the two vehicles collided and came to rest in the westbound lane, said police.

The Capon Bridge Volunteer Fire Department and rescue squad, Slanesvile Volunteer Fire Department and rescue squad, Augusta Rescue Squad and Paw Paw Fire Department reported to the scene of the accident.

The accident is still under investigation.
